Interested in keeping bees or ready to build on your existing beekeeping experience? Join us for a Beginner–Intermediate Beekeeping Class led by an experienced, multigenerational beekeeper.
Instructor:
Dr. Jennifer Mercer — Scientist, Third-generation beekeeper, Cornell Master Beekeeper
With a PhD in Earth Sciences, family roots in beekeeping, and advanced training through Cornell’s Master Beekeeper program, Jennifer brings both traditional knowledge and science-based practices to the hive.
Topics will include:
• Bee biology and colony behavior
• Equipment basics and hive setup
• Seasonal hive management
• Swarm prevention and troubleshooting
• Pest and disease awareness
• Practical tips for maintaining healthy, productive colonies
This class is ideal for new beekeepers and those with one or two seasons of experience who want to strengthen their skills and confidence.
